Narrow glossy black tile, set on end in straight columns from the counter to the underside of the cabinets. The glaze has a slightly uneven, handmade look, and the light strip under the cabinets runs across it, so every joint is on show.

Against the light veined counter and the apron-front sink, the black tile is what you notice first. Both outlets are cut in neatly.
